Thirty South Fifth is a historic home in the heart of Lewisburg, Pennsylvania.  The current owners, John Carey and Jennifer Tickle, came to possess the property in 2005.  While the full story of the property is not currently known, the home dates to the early 1900's. 

Per its name, Thirty South Fifth is rooted on fifth street with views from the front porch of Hufnagle Park and the historic train station.  Having a park across the street is a great luxury that any occupant is sure to enjoy.  The Bull Run Inn is the closest restaurant to the property.  The shops, restaurants, hotels and historic theater that occupy Lewisburg's Market Street are less than 1 block away.  Bucknell's Langone Student Center is approximately a 7-10 minute walk.

The exterior of the house is solid brick.  The windows are quite large and let a healthy amount of light into the various rooms of the home.  A unique exterior feature of the home is the second floor balcony that spans the entire length of the rear of the house.  There is a suitable yard for picnics or relaxing outdoors in the rear of the house.  At the end of the yard there is a carriage house and a private parking spot off of Strawberry Alley.

The interior of the house reminds one of a time when true craftsmen built houses.  The house, although cozy in dimension, feels light and airy because of very tall ceilings on both the first and second floors.  There are hardwood floors throughout the house.  Some are wide plank flooring and others have intricate inlays.  The extent of well preserved hardwoods present in the house is inspiring.  The doors, columns, trim, and staircase are all hardwood and pleasing to the eye.  Each room has at least one window with many having 3 or more.  The first floor consists of an entry foyer, living room, dining room, kitchen, and bathroom.  The second floor includes two front bedrooms, two back bedrooms, a sitting room or office, and a bathroom.  Both the attic and basement are accessible via staircases hidden behind doors.

Amenities such as oil heat, a washer and dryer, and storm windows are all included with the house.  The house is also approximately 95% furnished and is one of the few if not the only rental home in Lewisburg provided with reasonable furnishings.

Thirty South Fifth is a lovely property that can be occupied by tenants who respect and enjoy the property.  The house is meticulously maintained by owners who are investing in the longstanding beauty and history of the house.  This is NOT the typical rental property.
